What Is a Machine Control Model?
Finished grade, subgrade, utility and special excavation models for roadways, channels and various sites.
Our Process
First, we import and analyze the contract documents. This includes organizing and importing PDFs, standardizing CAD files and making sure the PDFs match the CAD.
Next, we begin modeling the project "inside out". This process focuses our models on the most important features: pads, pavement, and hardscape. At the completion of each feature, the model is checked for accuracy and constructibility. This allows our modelers to confidently move to the next feature rather than revisiting potential design issues down the line. Then, if requested, we build out subterranean features: subgrades, utility runs/structures, foundations, wall excavations, etc.
Finally, the model is reviewed by the department manager. At this stage, any design discrepancies and modeling assumptions are discussed. We export the project for your design brand and package the model with any PDF markups, KMLs, and any contract documents used to complete the project.
